MAKING WORDS
MOSCOW POETRY CLUB POETS MACHINE / YIOULA HATZIGEORGIOU COMMON CAUSE 3 / IGOR MAKAREVICH, ELENA ELAGINA September 18-27, 2009 Warehouse C, Thessaloniki port area “Making Words” is a project organized by the Moscow Poetry Club of the Stella Art Foundation, in collaboration with ArtBOX.gr | Creative Arts Management, first presented within the 53rd international exhibition of the Venice Biennale “Making Worlds”, directed by the Artistic Director Daniel Birnbaum, curated by Evgeny Bunimovich, Alexander Rytov, Evgeny Nikitin, Christos Savvidis, Lydia Chatziakovou. “Making Words” combines visual arts and pure poetry. The presentation of the project in the frame of the parallel programme of the 2nd Thessaloniki Biennale includes readings and performances by poets and artists from Greece and abroad, as well as the works “Poets Machine” by visual artist Yioula Hatzigeorgiou and «Common Cause 3» by Igor Makarevich / Elena Elagina. Most specifically, the “Poets Machine” project by Yioula Hatzigeorgiou is a work-in-progress that defines and outlines the space where the poets’ readings and performances take place.
