Periscopes
The installation consists of a periscope and a series of drawings in diluted inks. The periscope is not only a device for observation but also a medium to realize the subject-object confrontation and the continuous change of the sense of space. The drawings depict crowd scenes with identical figures in vast landscapes and emblematic machines of observation-probation, architectural elements, volcanos…Human figures like dark black marks, turned upside down and burning, spaces of enclosure, isolation and entrapment, movements, crashes, catastrophes and conflicts all undermine and confine the sight in unfinished fluid pictures.
