“For me, writing is attached to death, perhaps mostly to other people’s death, but that doesn’t mean writing could be like a final deadly blow against them... Not at all... When speaking about them, I am in the same situation as the anatomist who carries out an autopsy. With my writing, I cover other people’s body, I incise it, I lift the teguments and the skin, I try to expose the organs and, while displaying the organs, to finally reveal that source of injury, that source of evil, that something which characterized their life, their thought, which in its negativity finally organized all what they were.
Deep down, this poisonous heart of things and of men, is what I’ve always tried to bring to light.”
Michel Foucault
